Trucking Organizations

  • Owner Operators Independent Drivers Association based in Grain Valley, Missouri has been working with OOCVA since October of 2007. OOIDA has a nationwide outreach to more than 160,000 owner-operators. OOIDA also maintains a staff in Washington, DC to represent owner-operator areas of interest to our elected officials.   • West State Alliance advocates for legislative action, public policy, government regulations and business practices favorable to the interests of its members. WSA is active in all aspects of highway safety, environmental, and transportation policy. WSA participates in numerous committees and forums on state and local levels  affecting Port of Oakland truckers. Please visit West State Alliance here.

  • The Port Driver's Federation 18 is an association that represents owner-operators and port drivers conducting business out of the terminals in New York and New Jersey. PDF-18 seeks improvements in port efficiency, owner-operator business development, and accessibility to federal & state funding for equipment retrofits and replacements. Maritime Organizations


  • The Virginia Maritime Association (VMA) was organized in 1920 to promote, protect and encourage international and domestic commerce through the Port of Virginia.



Safety & Security Organizations

  • Drive Safe Hampton Roads is a non-profit coalition to promote traffic safety and awareness throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia. Drive Safe HR is free to join and online enrollment is available at www.drivesagehr.org. OOCVA actively participates in the STSC sub-committee and would encourage area owner-operators to utilize this resource and contribute to safety improvements

  • First Observer is a highway security program funded by FEMA and administered by the TSA, The mission of this program is to combat terrorism by utilizing transportation professionals  to observe, assess, and report potential security risks to our nation's highway infrastructure. Legal Affiliates

  • The law office of Gary C. Byler in Virginia Beach, VA serves as counsel to the Owner Operators Coalition of Virginia.  Gary Byler who holds the chair for Virginia's  2nd Congressional District of RVP also worked on the late President Ronald Reagan's White House Staff.
